Project Engineer

JT Wimsatt Contracting, Inc. is a leader in the construction industry, established in 1992, known for delivering projects with exceptional quality, punctuality, and adherence to budget constraints. We cater to both public and private sector clients, managing a diverse array of commercial, industrial, residential, governmental, and specialized construction projects.

We are actively seeking a Project Engineer for our operations. This role will report directly to the Project Manager.

At JT Wimsatt, you will have the chance to contribute to significant projects that will enhance your professional portfolio. We welcome applications from recent graduates eager to start a career in construction management, as well as those with prior experience in project engineering.

As a Project Engineer, you will be engaged from the initial stages of the construction process through to project completion. Our organization provides opportunities for involvement in various aspects of construction, including pre-construction planning, management of labor, materials, and equipment, scheduling, financial oversight, and cost estimation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate, document, distribute, and coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs) and Submittals with project teams.
  • Develop and monitor weekly labor objectives and production metrics.
  • Create quality control reports and surveys to ensure compliance with project standards.
  • Assist in tracking and recording construction schedules.
  • Collaborate with clients and design teams to enhance design and constructability.
Position Requirements

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • A combination of construction management and engineering experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Ability to adapt swiftly in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
All candidates will undergo background checks and drug screening, and must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
