Job Summary:

This position plays a vital role in the Clinical Nurse Manager's team, Intensive Psychiatric Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment, utilizing age-specific behavioral management practices. Familiarity with psychiatric disorders is essential, along with the ability to learn and facilitate therapeutic groups. The ideal candidate will plan, implement, and facilitate various skill training and theme-specific groups, modeling skills such as communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, they will document and communicate pertinent information to the treatment team. Additionally, they will assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, feeding, and dressing patients. The successful candidate will create a caring and compassionate environment through ECHN's Core Values of Teamwork, Communication, Respect, and Caring.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of a high school degree or GED equivalent is required; an Associate's degree, preferably in psychology or a related human services field, is preferred.
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support is required upon hire or within the new employee introductory orientation period, and must be maintained during employment with ECHN in this role.
  • Training in PMT and de-escalation techniques, as prescribed by ECHN, is required, with certification within 6 months of hire into the role.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and the ability to role-model effective coping skills.
  • The capability to take swift and efficient action, including patient restraint when responding to patient emergency codes.
