About the Role

Frontier Communications is seeking a talented IT Solutions Architect to help drive the company's transformation to a leading digital provider of fiber internet services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and architecture of complex software applications and systems, ensuring they meet business requirements and are scalable, maintainable, and secure.
  • Define technical strategies and roadmaps for software development projects in collaboration with other senior engineers and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate new and emerging technologies and make recommendations on their use to improve the performance, reliability, and maintainability of software applications and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design solutions, and implement new features.
  • Develop and maintain solutions architecture documents, including high-level flow diagrams, UML sequence diagrams, C4 design diagrams, ERDs, and technical specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams.
  • Review and approve solution designs, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with architectural standards and best practices.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior/executive leadership.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with software development projects.
  • Participate in agile software development processes, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in software development.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing complex software applications.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading integration projects from conception to delivery.
  • Deep expertise with multiple iPaaS, Integration Middleware, ESBs, and API management platforms.
  • Design and implement API management solutions using Apigee or API Connect or open-source API Gateways.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or others relevant to integration.
  • In-depth knowledge of messaging protocols, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
  • Experience in evaluating and selecting integration tools, platforms, and vendors.
  • Previous experience in defining and implementing integration architectures.
  • Expertise in software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum.
  • Experience with software development tools such as Git, Jira, and Jenkins.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms and services, preferably AWS including distributed caching services such as Redis.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with major RDBMs and NoSql database technologies.
  • Experience working on digital modernization projects.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience leading technical projects from inception through implementation.
