Position Summary:
The Senior Revenue Accountant will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate recording and reporting of the complete revenue cycle. This role requires a deep understanding of ASC 606 and a commitment to driving process enhancements within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and review sales agreements to determine the correct revenue recognition in line with GAAP ASC 606 and internal policies.
- Prepare and maintain revenue schedules and journal entries in NetSuite, ensuring precision and thoroughness.
- Collaborate with various teams, including systems, sales, and legal, to resolve revenue-related challenges and provide guidance for compliance.
- Monitor and reconcile revenue accounts, addressing discrepancies to facilitate a seamless month-end close process.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and NetSuite reports, offering insights on revenue fluctuations to the FP&A team.
- Support external audits by supplying necessary documentation and explanations regarding revenue recognition.
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in revenue accounting practices.
- Work with cross-functional teams to enhance workflows and optimize revenue recognition processes.
- Support M&A initiatives related to revenue, including the integration and documentation of processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
- CPA certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of revenue accounting experience in the SaaS industry.
- Experience with Netsuite ARM is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition standards, particularly ASC 606.
- Proficient in financial statement analysis and account reconciliation.
- Preference for candidates located in the Chicagoland area.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 annually, with eligibility for bonuses. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
