About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Amazon Supply Chain Optimization Engineer to join our team. As a key member of this team, you will design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment to help drive critical buying, labor planning, and inventory routing decisions worldwide.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience, with a strong background in designing or architecture of new and existing systems. You should be proficient in at least one software programming language and have experience working in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

About the Team

The Amazon Global Supply Chain Optimization team is responsible for building systems to peer into the future and estimate the distribution of tens of millions of products every week to Amazon's warehouses in the most cost-effective way. Our teams own and operate Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) technology used in planning and controlling the flow of quantities of inventory (units), as well as storage space (capacity), and labor constraints (throughput capacity).

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
  2. Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
  3. Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.
  4. Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.
  5. Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.

Estimated Salary: $150,000 - $190,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
