Siemens Industry, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm and Fire Sprinkler Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of commercial fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute comprehensive testing, inspections, and repair of commercial fire alarm systems and/or fire sprinkler systems, including peripheral parts and systems.
  • Properly document deficiencies/impairments noted during inspections or service work, create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs, and follow required processes of reporting deficiencies while on-site.
  • Swiftly respond to, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs to maintain system functionality. Report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material.
  • Identify code and non-conformance issues, ensuring adherence to required standards.
  • Quote small repair jobs and provide detailed parts and labor requirements to estimators and sales for large repair projects.
  • Plan work with Lead Technicians and Supervisors to strategize tasks effectively.
  • Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all work performed.
  • Maintain vehicle stock, tools, and equipment. Follow corporate policies related to vehicle use and care.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in the inspections, testing, and/or repair of commercial fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, and/or other water-based equipment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate:
  • Ability to differentiate types/colors of wire; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet.
  • Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 3 within 12 months.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read/understand design and construction documents.
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in the inspections, testing, and/or repair of commercial fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, and/or other water-based equipment.
