The Information and Records Management (IRM) department at C4 Technical Services is seeking a skilled Health Records Management Specialist to join their team. This role involves working with stakeholders to ensure records management compliance, including proper retentions and data purging/destroying at the appropriate times.

Job Summary:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data topics, communicate retention requirements, review contracts, and assist with certificates of destruction.
  • Stay updated on health regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA) to balance business needs with compliance requirements.
  • Conduct retention audits, document findings, and handle policy exception requests, including remediation plans.
  • Develop and maintain data management standards, procedures, and protocols.
  • Review decommission requests to ensure proper destruction or capture of record information.
  • Establish and track KPIs, using data-driven insights to identify areas for automation to save time and resources.

Requirements:

  • 4 years of experience in information lifecycle management and/or records management, including 2 years in health-related information management.
  • Understanding of state, federal, and regulatory agency requirements for the security, privacy, and confidentiality of health records.
  • Demonstrated customer orientation, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Skills:

  • Professional certificate or secondary education in records management, including certifications like Certified Records Manager (CRM), Certified Records Analyst (CRA), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
  • Experience working with databases, particularly healthcare databases, strongly preferred.
  • Current/Previous affiliation with Association for Intelligent Information Management (AIIM) and/or ARMA International (formerly the Association of Records Managers and Administrators).

Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 per year
