Compensation:

Starting at $10 for Full-Time Checkout Associates - Compensation may vary based on experience and availability.

Position Overview:
Upholds the Core Values established by our management team. The primary responsibility of all positions within the company is to ensure customer satisfaction at every interaction. Retail checkout associates are tasked with delivering prompt and friendly service at the register. Additional duties may include inventory management and maintaining store cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver courteous and efficient customer service.
  • Accurately handle various forms of payment, including cash, checks, and credit cards, while processing refunds and issuing store credits for returns.
  • Conduct credit card transactions and coupon redemptions in line with company policies.
  • Verify cash drawer accuracy at the start and end of each shift, promptly reporting any discrepancies to the manager.
  • Stay informed about ongoing sales promotions and actively engage customers.
  • Practice suggestive selling techniques and foster positive customer relationships.
  • Be aware of sales targets and monitor performance against these goals.
  • Comply with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations affecting store operations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance by wearing the company uniform and nametag at all times.
  • Address customer complaints positively and document them for follow-up by the Store Manager as needed.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization in the work area, including sanitizing equipment.
  • Restock and organize merchandise near the register area.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures for all transactions.
  • Engage customers in the ACE Rewards program and encourage participation.
  • Follow safety and emergency procedures as outlined.
  • Regularly clean work surfaces, store equipment, and restrooms, and perform other assigned duties.
  • Participate in store initiatives aimed at building sales, enhancing customer service, and fostering teamwork.
  • Actively engage in store communication and activities (e.g., Communication Board, Daily Huddle, contests).
  • Live and embody the Company's Core Values.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Previous cashier experience or proficiency in a similar role.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to a customer-centric culture.
  • Ability to operate a cash register (POS system), computer, and other necessary equipment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of customers and team members.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) communication skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
The minimum physical requirements for this role include:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, reach, and bend as needed.
  • Capability to lift and handle merchandise weighing up to 40 pounds.
