Position Overview

The Director of Business Operations is responsible for overseeing essential operational functions within the organization, including Utilization Review, Admissions, Financial Operations, and Cash Collections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the Utilization Review team, ensuring high standards in review processes, achieving low denial rates, high authorization rates, and minimal operational issues.
  • Manages the admissions team, focusing on the efficiency and effectiveness of the client admission process.
  • Collaborates with Corporate Call Center leadership to enhance systems and processes related to admissions.
  • Oversees facility cash collections, striving to meet the cash collection targets set by corporate leadership.
  • Monitors the revenue cycle management at the facility level in partnership with corporate leadership.
  • Works alongside the Group CEO to manage facility finances, aiming to exceed budgeted program margins.
  • Partners creatively with facility leadership to identify solutions that enhance program margin outcomes.
  • Provides daily supervision of program staff, ensuring adherence to workflow, quality standards, and compliance with state and program guidelines.
  • Addresses various operational needs during staff shortages, including admissions, cash collections, and Utilization Review.
  • Engages in compliance initiatives and chart audits, implementing necessary improvements to maintain high-quality care.
  • Represents the facility at marketing events, professional conferences, and training sessions.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Clinical Operations, formulates policies and procedures that support business operations and meet financial objectives.
  • Monitors action plans aimed at improving the efficiency of ongoing projects and the development of new initiatives.
  • Supervises the continuous revision of procedures and protocols to enhance compliance, marketability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with referral sources and marketing staff.
  • Performs additional operational tasks as directed by the Group CEO or the Director of Clinical Operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Understanding of diagnostic criteria for dual conditions and the ability to conceptualize care modalities.
  • Awareness of diverse cultures and gender-specific issues.
  • Proficiency in complex Excel spreadsheets.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • BLS/CPR Certification is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in behavioral health is required.
  • Previous supervisory experience is essential.
  • Experience with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Admissions and Utilization Review processes is necessary.
