The Director of Business Operations provides administration and supervision over critical business operations of the facility, including Utilization Review, Admissions, Financial Operations and Cash Collections.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises the UR team & is responsible for high quality utilization review, including low denial rates, high authorization rates, minimal process issues and quality appeals.
  • Supervises the admissions team and is responsible for ensuring all components of the admissions workflow is efficient and effective in admitting clients.
  • Works closely with Corporate Call Center leadership to maintain strong systems and processes for admissions
  • Supervises facility cash collections, achieving the targeted cash collections goal as determined by the Group CEO and corporate leadership.
  • Responsible for monitoring the entire facility level revenue cycle management in conjunction with the Group CEO
  • Works with Group CEO on facility finance management, with the objective of exceeding facility budgeted program margin.
  • Works to creatively partner with facility leadership (DON, Operations Manager, DCO, Group CEO) to find solutions to achieve and exceed program margin expectations
  • Provides daily oversight of program staff; monitors workflow, timeliness, quality of work, and adherence to state and program guidelines.
  • Covers various operational needs based on staff outages, including but not limited to; admissions, cash collections and UR.
  • Participates in ongoing compliance initiatives/chart audits, and executes remedies necessary to obtain high quality of care.
  • Participates in representing the assigned facility in marketing events and professional conferences and trainings.
  • In conjunction with Director of Clinical Operations, develops policies and procedures to support business operations and meet financial metrics.
  • Monitors action plans for enhancing efficiency of existing projects and development of expansion projects.
  • Supervises ongoing revision of procedures, protocols and processes to enhance compliance, marketability, and cost efficiency of deliverables.
  • Maintains ongoing collaborative relationships with referral sources and the PBH marketing staff members.
  • Performs any additional operational activities as requested or required by the Group CEO and/or the Director of Clinical Operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of diagnostic criteria for dual conditions and ability to conceptualize modalities and criteria within continuum of care
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of diverse cultures and gender specific issues

Qualifications and Requirements

Education/Licensing:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • BLS/CPR Certification required.

Experience:

  • 5 years’ experience required, preferably in behavioral health across the continuum.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Experience with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).
  • Experience in Admissions & Utilization Review
