Position OverviewThe Chief Operations Officer oversees essential business functions within the organization, including Utilization Review, Client Admissions, Financial Management, and Revenue Collection.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads the Utilization Review team, ensuring high standards in review processes, achieving low denial rates, and maintaining quality in appeals.
- Manages the admissions team, optimizing the workflow to ensure effective client onboarding.
- Collaborates with leadership to uphold robust systems for admissions processes.
- Oversees the facility's revenue collection efforts, striving to meet financial targets set by corporate leadership.
- Monitors overall revenue cycle management in partnership with executive leadership.
- Works alongside executive leadership on financial management to exceed budgeted program margins.
- Partners creatively with facility leaders to develop solutions that enhance program margin outcomes.
- Provides daily oversight of operational staff, ensuring workflow efficiency, quality of work, and compliance with regulations.
- Addresses various operational needs as required, including admissions and revenue collection.
- Engages in compliance initiatives and audits, implementing necessary improvements to maintain high care standards.
- Represents the facility at marketing events and professional conferences.
- In collaboration with the Director of Clinical Operations, formulates policies and procedures to support operational goals and financial performance.
- Monitors action plans aimed at improving efficiency in ongoing and new projects.
- Supervises the continuous improvement of procedures to enhance compliance, marketability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintains strong relationships with referral sources and marketing teams.
- Performs additional operational tasks as directed by executive leadership.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- In-depth understanding of diagnostic criteria for dual conditions and the ability to navigate care modalities.
- Awareness of diverse cultural and gender-specific issues.
- Proficiency in complex Excel spreadsheets.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Education and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
- BLS/CPR Certification is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in behavioral health.
- Previous supervisory experience is essential.
- Experience with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is preferred.
- Background in Admissions and Utilization Review is necessary.
