We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Outpatient Administrative Specialist to join our team at Upstate University Hospital. In this role, you will perform OAS duties based on the operational needs of the department and serve as a role model, mentor, and preceptor for new and existing staff.

As a key member of our team, you will assist and support the management team with daily operations related to staffing, workload, and resource management. Your expertise in medical terminology, medical billing/insurance requirements, and excellent written/oral communication skills will be invaluable in promoting cooperative behaviors and maintaining good public relations with patients, visitors, co-workers, and other individuals.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $66,000-$76,000 based on industry standards and location.

What We're Looking For:

  • Associate degree and three (3) years relevant patient financial/insurance services experience in a healthcare related setting
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, medical billing/insurance requirements, and familiarity with medical coding
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to maintain good public relations with patients, visitors, co-workers, and other individuals
