Avery Dennison's Reflective Solutions Division develops and manufactures retroreflective prismatic sheeting for highway safety products such as highway sign sheeting and conspicuity tape. Our company has a values-based culture with a focus on team, safety, respect, and caring for one another.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and design retroreflective prismatic sheeting for highway safety products
  • Model and analyze optical performance using geometric optics, Fourier optics, and color theory
  • Design and develop new prismatic sheeting types
  • Conduct measurements and data analysis using commercial instrumentation and custom instrumentation
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Optics, Optical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Master's or PhD preferred
  • 4+ years of optics experience in industry and/or academic research setting
  • Strong understanding of geometric optics, Fourier optics, and color theory
  • Math proficiency (3D geometry, vector analysis, calculus, Fourier analysis)
  • Technical programming skills, particularly in object-oriented programming (MATLAB preferred)
