Job Description

The Field Service Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment at customer locations. This will involve troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as providing technical support and training to customers.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in the injection molding industry or a similar field. They will also have excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.

The role will involve working in a variety of environments, including factory floors and customer sites, and will require the ability to lift heavy equipment and travel extensively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation and Setup: Perform installation and setup of injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and associated peripherals at customer locations.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment operates at optimal performance.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate service reports, documentation of repairs, and service logs in compliance with company and customer standards.
  • Equipment Testing: Test machinery after repair or installation to ensure proper functionality and performance.
  • Emergency Repairs: Respond to urgent customer service calls and perform on-site emergency repairs in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and sales, to support customer needs and improve product performance.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, ensuring that both personal safety and customer safety are maintained during service visits.
Requirements:
  • Education: Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a field service technician, preferably in the injection molding industry or a similar industrial equipment field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing injection molding machines, knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and robotics used in injection molding, and familiarity with various molding processes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in various environments, and travel extensively.
