Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Representative to join our team at Emergency Medical Services Authority. As a key member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our patients and customers, ensuring that their needs are met and exceeded.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer patient or customer inquiries and requests with the highest level of service and integrity.
  • Document patient accounts accurately and thoroughly, including demographic information.
  • Process correspondence, returned mail, and requests for reductions or hardships and payment arrangements.
  • Prepare liens and lien requests, and gather supporting documentation for subpoenas, interpleaders, and purchase orders.
  • Work complaints and disputes, and monitor assigned work queues to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry standards and organizational practices.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and work with the highest level of integrity.
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of medical billing and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Ability to type at least 35 words per minute and proficiency in 10-key.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and with a group, and maintain good working relationships.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum GED or High School Diploma.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a hospital or physician's office working patient accounts or insurance workflows with strong customer service facing responsibilities.
