Bridge Maintenance Specialist

**Bridge Maintenance Technician Role**

We are seeking a skilled Bridge Maintenance Technician to support the structural operation and maintenance of local commuter bridges and roadway overpasses. This role involves performing various tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of these critical infrastructure assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform landscape maintenance duties such as mowing, herbicide and fertilizer application, weed control, spring clean-up, fall clean-up, tree trimming, and pruning.
• Clean bridge stormwater drainage structures and on bridge slopes.
• Perform general maintenance duties such as litter and debris removal.
• Perform concrete structural repair to sidewalks and bridges or overpasses.
• Climb, move, and work at heights on and under bridges using proper safety equipment.
• Fills and patches asphalt pavement potholes and distresses.
• Perform Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) / temporary traffic control.
• Provide after-hours emergency incident response during scheduled on-call rotation.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Perform preventative maintenance on company vehicles or equipment.
• Operate a variety of mechanical equipment such as edgers, gators, blowers, dump trailers, chain saws, line trimmers, forklifts, and more.
• Drive company trucks, towing trailers, and rolling arrow boards if necessary.
• Log maintenance work-order information and checklists manually and electronically.
• Load and unload equipment, supplies, tools, and material.
• Use all equipment, tools, materials, and supplies safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods.
• Willingness to work multiple shifts and varying hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
• Ability to work along local roadways, interstates, and/or highways with commuter traffic passing by at varying rates of speed.
• 2+ years of experience working in roadway operations, construction, utilities, or landscaping.
• Obtain MOT certificate (coursework and certification paid for by Versar).
• Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Successful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
• Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
• Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.

Location:

The position reports to the Ocoee, FL office.

Compensation:

Expected Salary: $20 - $23 per hour.
