About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Manager to join our team at The SYGMA Network. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for managing the ongoing maintenance operations and processes of all building systems, equipment, and facilities at our Redistribution Center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine and assign all maintenance projects to be completed within the building or property and direct the project to ensure proper completion.
  • Initiate and maintain sanitation programs for the facility.
  • Manage the establishment and completion of preventative maintenance schedules for all systems, equipment, and buildings.
  • Prepare departmental profit plans and related budgets.
  • Review and approve department expenditures within budgetary plans.
  • Monitor third-party pest control services and report any performance or regulatory concerns.
  • Support the development and adherence to The SYGMA Network's waste management policies and procedures.
  • Foster an environment that encourages colleague involvement and commitment to quality of work.
  • Ensure that all required colleague records, evaluations, and related documentation are filed in a timely, consistent, and accurate manner.
  • Observe and enforce all safety rules to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Comply with all applicable company policies and regulations.
  • Maintain facility security requirements and implement procedures for safeguarding property and resources.
  • Partner with vendors to ensure the safety, security, and access control systems are utilized in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • Comply with all food safety policies and procedures as directed by food safety regulations.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Five years experience as Facilities Maintenance Manager or Facilities Engineer is required.
  • Mechanical aptitude, understanding of facilities equipment and systems, considerable knowledge of electrical, ammonia refrigeration systems operations and its maintenance requirements are required.
  • Energy Management System knowledge preferred.
  • Must be articulate and effective with written and verbal communication with individuals of broadly varying backgrounds and educational levels.
  • Must have mastery of general math, algebra, and geometry.
  • Must be able to work in a proactive manner, address issues, and solve problems by using previous education and experience in identifying appropriate actions.
Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fast moving material handling equipment or other mechanical equipment.

The employee is frequently exposed to freezer/cooler warehouse environments.

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, vehicle emissions, contained toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, high voltage electrical equipment and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment usually is loud.

Work Hours:

This is a full-time position.

The incumbent must have the ability to work a varying schedule which might include shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays.

Some weekend and/or night work is required as needed.

Work hours may vary, or change based on departmental requirements.

Travel:

Up to 10% of time required for travel.
