We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Emergency Department Operations Director to join our team at Revel Staffing.

Job Summary

The Pediatric Emergency Department Operations Director will oversee the daily operations and staffing of the pediatric emergency department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This role involves monitoring nursing practices, upholding clinical standards, and holding staff accountable to achieve optimal patient outcomes and support facility goals.

About the RoleClinical and Operational Leadership

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing adherence to standards of care, promoting accountability and transparency in service delivery;
  • Monitoring and enhancing clinical efficiency, effectiveness, and cost through process improvements;
  • Managing admissions, discharges, and care coordination to ensure seamless, patient-centered care;
  • Assigning staff with appropriate clinical competencies to meet patient needs and support optimal outcomes;
  • Ensuring regular equipment maintenance and compliance with operational standards;
  • Maintaining unit operations aligned with nursing best practices and productivity guidelines.
Patient Experience and Compliance

The Pediatric Emergency Department Operations Director will also be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership to achieve excellent patient experiences, promoting consistent, positive interactions;
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement through patient feedback and implementing strategies for enhancement;
  • Supporting service recovery initiatives and ensuring a patient-first philosophy throughout the department;
  • Ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Staff Development and Engagement

In addition to their clinical responsibilities, the Pediatric Emergency Department Operations Director will:

  • Attract, develop, and retain talent to meet the department's needs;
  • Provide coaching and feedback to improve staff performance and identify areas for development;
  • Manage employee concerns, grievances, or disputes, fostering a positive work environment;
  • Implement employee engagement practices aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
Financial Management

The successful candidate will also be responsible for:

  • Managing operating expenses, monitoring productivity, and identifying cost-saving opportunities;
  • Overseeing staff scheduling to meet productivity standards and ensure optimal coverage.
Community and Professional Engagement

The Pediatric Emergency Department Operations Director will participate in:

  • Patient and community events;
  • In-service training;
  • Supporting the achievement of internal and external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations.
RequirementsExperience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a pediatric emergency department;
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in an acute care setting.
Education

A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required, while a Master's degree in Nursing is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

The successful candidate must possess:

  • A current Registered Nurse or active Compact license in Texas;
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification;
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification;
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of hire;
  • Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) certification is preferred.
