Pediatric Emergency Department Leadership Opportunity in Austin

About the Role:
The Pediatric Emergency Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and staff of the department, ensuring adherence to standards of care, managing resources, and promoting a positive patient experience.

A reputable healthcare provider in Austin, TX, dedicated to providing high-quality, family-centered care to pediatric patients in need of emergency services. Their 10-bed Pediatric Emergency Department, which includes a dedicated trauma room, sees a daily census of 40-50 patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, implement evidence-based practices, and maintain a culture of accountability and transparency.
- Oversee the daily operations and staff of the department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of care.
- Promote a positive patient experience through excellent communication, empathy, and compassion.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of pediatric ED experience in a healthcare setting.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role in an acute care setting.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse or active Compact license in the state of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing.
- Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration.
- Knowledge of performance improvement methodologies.
