About This Role:

The Director of Portfolio and Project Governance serves as a key leader in the enterprise project management team, providing strategic direction and operational oversight. This role is responsible for the IT Project Management Office, which provides frameworks, tools, processes, and best practices to support successful IT and cross-functional project delivery.

This position works closely with university leadership to prepare information for project governance and provides institution-wide vision on technology projects. The Director is expected to lead by example, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.

What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree and five to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree preferred in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in higher education enterprise application development, implementation, and support.
  • Experience in higher education project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing processes, controls, and metrics in a Project Management Office.
  • Experience managing multiple enterprise-level, large, complex projects.
  • Ability to relate to diverse communities of students, staff, and faculty.
  • High level of energy, enthusiasm, and ability to be innovative and creative.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead a team.
  • Ability to make sound, well-informed, and objective decisions.
