Recreation Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital. As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for providing recreation therapy services to patients, including assessing their leisure and recreational activities, providing age and developmentally appropriate therapy groups, and establishing behavioral treatment goals.
About the Role:- Assess patients' leisure and recreational activities to identify areas for improvement
- Develop and implement recreation therapy plans to promote patients' physical, emotional, and social well-being
- Provide age and developmentally appropriate therapy groups to patients
- Establish behavioral treatment goals and objectives for patients
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans
Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital is a 116-bed acute psychiatric hospital and residential treatment center located on a beautifully wooded campus. We provide inpatient and residential treatment services for ages 5-17, with a focus on promoting self-acceptance and stabilizing patients suffering from acute psychiatric illness.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in a related recreation therapy field
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification
- One to three years of experience in recreation therapy, preferably working with a mental health population
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds
- Strong computer skills and excellent communication skills
