Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Quality Fabrication Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and Implementing Quality Systems: Design and implement quality systems and processes that promote continuous improvement and excellence in fabrication.
  • Collaborating with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with business unit teams, engineering groups, and project teams to qualify internally manufactured fabricated products and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Validating and Accepting New Equipment: Support the validation and acceptance of new manufacturing sheet metal and plastic thermoforming fabrication equipment to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Problem-Solving and Root Cause Analysis: Utilize quality improvement tools, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to solve problems and improve processes.
  • Developing and Implementing Policies and Procedures: Develop and implement policies, procedures, work instructions, and fabrication control plans to ensure consistency and quality in our fabrication processes.
  • Performing Measurements and Gage R&R Studies: Perform measurements of fabricated parts and conduct Gage R&R and capability studies to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Supervising Quality Technicians: Supervise and mentor fabrication quality technicians to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Quality Planning

As a Senior Quality Fabrication Engineer, you will also be responsible for:

  • Establishing Quality System Requirements: Establish the quality system requirements for new or revised products and manufacturing processes.
  • Design Review and Key Control Characteristics: Conduct pre-production design reviews and identify key control characteristics (KCCs) for new or revised products.
  • Developing and Documenting Key Processes: Develop and document key processes and procedures to ensure consistency and quality in our fabrication processes.
  • Establishing In-Process Measurement and Data Collection Systems: Establish and implement in-process measurement and data collection systems to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Defining Annual Quality Goals and Objectives: Assist in defining annual quality goals and objectives to ensure alignment with our company's overall strategy.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 8+ Years of Experience: Knowledge of quality processes and procedures, with experience in lean 6-Sigma principles, including advanced statistics, design of experiments, and value stream mapping.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Minitab, and other manufacturing and quality software databases, as well as advanced knowledge of root cause analysis and quality improvement tools.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, with a strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
