Prepared Foods Team Member

Job Title: Prepared Foods Cook
Report to: Store Management
Responsibilities- Food Preparation: Prepare food items for the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars according to production sheets.
- Recipe Execution: Prepare food items according to recipe to ensure quality and consistency.
- Food Handling and Storage: Ensure that all prepared items are labeled, dated, covered, monitored for quality and freshness, and rotated.
- Inventory Management: Monitor food levels and replenish in a timely manner.
- Team Collaboration and Communication: Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques.
- Sales and Merchandising: Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
- Compliance and Safety: Follow and comply, or ensure compliance, with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
- Store Appearance: Maintain, or ensure maintenance of, a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintain equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
- Product Knowledge: Thorough product knowledge.
- Cooking Skills: Ability to follow a recipe.
- Cooking Techniques: Good understanding of food production and fundamental cooking techniques.
- Math Skills: Good basic math skills.
- Communication and Teamwork: Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Customer Service: Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.
- Sales and Merchandising: Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and Team Members.
- Time Management and Organization: Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills.
- Work Ethic: Passion for natural foods and the mission of Whole Foods Market.
- Flexibility: Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
- Lifting: Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Standing and Walking: In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
- Motions: Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
- Exposure: Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
- Temperature: Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Environmental Conditions: Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
- Work Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
