CAMBA Legal Services seeks a highly skilled Staff Attorney (Housing Unit) to join its team. As a member of the Housing Unit, you will provide direct legal representation and advice to low-income individuals and families in Brooklyn and Staten Island, preserving affordable housing through representation of clients facing threats of eviction, harassment, or issues of habitability.

The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate, be admitted to the New York State Bar, and possess knowledge of and experience in foreclosure and housing law. A demonstrated commitment to poverty law and social justice work is essential. Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills, as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, are required.

The responsibilities of this position include providing direct legal representation and advice to clients, litigating cases in housing court, administrative forums, and other state courts, and regularly appearing in court, persuasively advocating for clients, conducting interviews, drafting motions, preparing for trial, and negotiating settlements.

The estimated salary for this position is $100,000 annually, based on factors such as experience, education, and budget.
