Job Title: Housing Specialist

The Doe Fund Inc is seeking a dedicated and experienced Housing Specialist to join our team. This role will work out of our Porter Avenue, Brooklyn facility and will report to the Director of Discharge Planning, Housing & Recruitment.

About The Role:
This position requires a strong background in community-based residential management, with experience negotiating lease agreements with landlords and/or realtor management companies. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining working relationships with these partners, as well as ensuring compliance with established housing laws and building codes.

About You:
We are looking for an individual with a Bachelor's degree and at least two to three years of relevant experience. You should have knowledge of applicable state and city housing and disability laws and codes, as well as be computer literate. A valid driver's license is also required.

Your Key Responsibilities:
* Interface with landlord and management companies to establish a working relationship
* Create and maintain a liaison with DHS Housing Placement Unit
* Oversee landlord and management company compliance in meeting the established housing laws, building codes, and lease agreements
* Work in conjunction with Case Management to identify potential clients for housing
* Resolve crises or conflicts with landlords and management companies to ensure compliance with meeting the needs of the client base
* Monitor, evaluate, and revise housing management relationships
* Ensure uniformity in maintaining fair housing standards in securing apartments
* Develop and maintain a database of available housing
* Work towards identifying new housing opportunities for clients through ongoing networks
* Prepare and/or coordinate reports and related information related to housing codes and compliance
