Press Support Specialists play a crucial role in the Press Department, assisting their team by organizing and preparing printed materials for distribution, as well as aiding in the operation of web-fed offset printing presses and executing additional finishing tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently jog and hand-palletize printed materials from press machinery.
  • Prepare stacking equipment to align with job specifications.
  • Accurately pack products according to load tickets and place them in designated shipping areas.
  • Inspect printed materials for quality assurance.
  • Support press team members during setup by performing tasks such as cleaning blankets, changing inks, and maintaining press cleanliness.
  • Ensure press areas are organized and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or office environment is preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and business communications.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Basic math skills for practical problem-solving, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Capability to interpret various forms of instructions, whether written, oral, or diagrammatic.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage projects with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer proficiency is necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must utilize proper body mechanics for pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling, and bending.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires manual dexterity and coordination for fine motor tasks.
  • Near visual acuity is necessary for quality checks.
  • Must be capable of navigating and functioning in various departments within the facility.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in stressful situations.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, employees may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and occasionally hazardous materials. Regular work will occur near moving mechanical parts.
