We are currently seeking an Auto Hot Press Operator for the second shift, from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with opportunities for overtime and occasional Saturdays.

Job Overview:

The primary responsibility of this role is to operate tooling, machinery, and materials for the hot press sintering process of powdered metal diamond segments. This position plays a vital role in the production of diamond segments utilized in the manufacturing of blades and bits.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare graphite tooling using graphite or boron nitride coatings.
- Assemble and disassemble graphite mold components.
- Sort and separate graphite mold parts from finished diamond segments.
- Prepare and store graphite mold components for future production runs.
- Adhere to company policies to ensure compliance with EPA and environmental regulations, as well as OSHA Safety and Health Regulations during the hot pressing process.
- Lift materials weighing up to 40 lbs.

Machinery Operations:

- Organize and select appropriate tooling to meet production requirements.
- Maintain a general understanding of manufacturing equipment operations.
- Choose the hot pressing program based on work order specifications using reference charts.
- Clean equipment in preparation for subsequent orders.

Quality Control:

- Conduct quality checks on sintered diamond bonds, including micrometer measurements of height, length, and thickness.
- Perform hardness and density assessments on diamond segments using a Rockwell Hardness Tester and precision balance.
- Collaborate with Quality Control to refine manufacturing process inspection techniques and standards.

Additional Skills:

- Demonstrate dexterity in handling small parts and assemblies.
- Ability to lift, push/pull, and stand for extended periods.

Required Knowledge:

- Familiarity with basic industrial mathematics, the metric system of weights and measurements, diamond tool design principles, and the use of micrometers for measurements.
- Knowledge of hardness testing and precision balancing for density checks.
