CNC Machining Specialist Job Overview

We are in search of a proficient CNC Machining Specialist to become a vital part of our organization. The successful applicant will be tasked with programming and operating advanced CNC lathes and multi-axis milling machines. Collaboration with both production and research teams will be essential to ensure that manufacturing timelines are adhered to and that quality assurance processes are consistently enhanced.

Primary Duties:

  • Provide machining expertise for components of diverse dimensions
  • Interpret technical drawings and prototype designs to program CNC milling and lathe machines
  • Choose suitable tooling and fixtures
  • Enhance component manufacturability in conjunction with design engineers
  • Propose strategies for cost reduction
  • Remain informed about advancements in machining technologies and equipment
  • Estimate labor and material expenses
  • Exhibit proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks
  • Work independently in GibbsCAM
  • Diagnose and resolve machine programming issues as necessary

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a machining setting

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant Certification or Trade School preferred

Skills:

  • Expertise in CNC Lathes and Milling machines
  • Capability to program intricate tasks on 4+ axis machinery
  • Experience with controls such as Haas, Fanuc, and Okuma
  • Familiarity with manual programming techniques
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and GibbsCAM
  • Strong focus on detail and quality standards
  • Competence in MS Office applications
