Job Summary

This is an entry-level Diagnostic Medical Sonographer position at Maine Medical Center. The successful candidate will perform and assist with diagnostic medical ultrasound imaging, working in a specialized clinical environment. The role requires knowledge of ultrasound equipment, procedures, and techniques, as well as anatomy and physiology. The ideal candidate will have ARDMS certification in at least one specialty and BLS certification. Experience as a sonographer in a hospital setting is preferred. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and assist with diagnostic medical ultrasound imaging
  • Operate ultrasound equipment and maintain a high level of proficiency
  • Communicate effectively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals

  • Meet productivity and quality standards

Requirements
  • Education: Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • License/Certifications: ARDMS certification in at least one specialty, BLS certification
  • Experience: 1 year experience as a sonographer in a hospital setting preferred
  • Proficiencies: Analytical ability, interpersonal skills, ability to adapt to different work environments
