Job Summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking a skilled Aerospace Mechanic II to join our team in Savannah, GA. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for installing parts and components, lines, cables, and other equipment in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assemble, install, and adjust aircraft structure parts and system components, including control cables, sectors, linkages, control surfaces, landing gear, and doors.
  2. Remove and replace system components, cut and fit system lines and associated hardware to facilitate repairs.
  3. Ensure quality and efficiency of all installations, performing necessary rework to meet conformity requirements.
  4. Install systems lines, valves, ducts, and associated parts and hardware, working to ensure a leak-free system.
  5. Use a variety of tools and equipment, including permaswage pumps, dies, line cutting tools, wrenches, checking tools, witness gauges, and other specialized tools.
  6. Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and structural problems to facilitate basic repairs.
  7. Update and sign required logs and records as necessary.
  8. Check own work and may be required to check work of junior mechanics to ensure a defect-free installation prior to final inspection.
  9. Maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company's FOD and 5S programs, and comply with all safety regulations.
  10. Demonstrate Gulfstream Manufacturing competencies in the employee effectiveness review.
  11. Maintain and use all logs and records, such as MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, and other relevant documentation.
  12. Support continuous improvement processes as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience, such as auto mechanics or heavy equipment.
  2. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred.
  3. Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  4. Skilled in close tolerance work and knowledge of special tools and ability to perform close tolerance work, such as drilling, reaming, and ship fitting parts.
  5. Ability to operate hydraulic mule pumps, fixtures, and jigs.
