Aerospace Mechanic II

We are seeking a skilled Aerospace Mechanic II to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for installing parts and components, lines, cables, and other equipment in a team-oriented work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and adjust aircraft structure parts and system components, including control cables, sectors, linkages, control surfaces, landing gear, and doors.
- Remove and replace system components, cut and fit system lines and associated hardware necessary to facilitate and perform repairs.
- Ensure quality and efficiency of all installations, perform necessary rework to ensure installations meet conformity, and check own work and junior mechanics' work to ensure a defect-free installation prior to final inspection.
- Install systems lines, valves, ducts, and associated parts and hardware, working to ensure a leak-free system.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment, including permaswage pumps, dies, line cutting tools, wrenches, checking tools, witness gauges, and other specialized tools to successfully complete component and perform minor structure installation.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and structural problems to facilitate and perform basic repairs, update and sign required logs and records, and maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Demonstrate Gulfstream Manufacturing competencies in the employee effectiveness review, maintain and use all logs and records, and support continuous improvement processes as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience such as auto mechanics, heavy equipment, etc.
- A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in small-space restricted areas, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Solumina and Smarteam experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams and use all tools required to do the job.
- Skilled in close tolerance work and have knowledge of use of special tools and ability to perform close tolerance work such as drilling, reaming, ship fitting parts, etc.
- Ability to operate hydraulic mule pumps, fixtures, and jigs.
