Aerospace Mechanic II

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking a skilled Aerospace Mechanic II to join our team in Savannah, GA. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for installing parts and components, lines, cables, and other systems in assigned areas using required tools and prints, specifications, and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and adjust aircraft structure parts and system components, including control cables, sectors, linkages, control surfaces, landing gear, and doors.
- Remove and replace system components, cut and fit system lines and associated hardware necessary to facilitate and perform repairs.
- Ensure quality and efficiency of all installations, perform necessary rework to ensure installations meet conformity, and check own work and junior mechanics' work to ensure a defect-free installation prior to final inspection.
- Install systems lines, valves, ducts, and associated parts and hardware, working to ensure a leak-free system.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment, including permaswage pumps, dies, line cutting tools, wrenches, checking tools, witness gauges, and other specialized tools to successfully complete component and perform minor structure installation.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and structural problems to facilitate and perform basic repairs, update and sign required logs and records, and maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Maintain and use all logs and records, such as MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, and support continuous improvement processes as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience such as auto mechanics, heavy equipment, etc.
- A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams, use all tools required to do the job, and perform close tolerance work such as drilling, reaming, ship fitting parts, etc.
- Ability to operate hydraulic mule pumps, fixtures, and jigs.
