Job Title: Capstone Assistant

The School of Data Science at the University of Virginia is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to support the Masters Capstone program.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist in sourcing projects for the Masters Capstone program, working closely with industry partners, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and academia to identify real-world problems that can be solved using data science techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and identify potential project sponsors in Central Virginia
  • Communicate with past sponsors to re-engage them in the program
  • Manage a database of capstone applications, categorize and forward to mentors for review
  • Schedule information sessions and meetings for prospective sponsors
  • Coordinate with the Office of Sponsored Programs on data use agreements and internal signatures
  • Track expenses for ongoing projects and produce budget reports
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two years of experience in a related field
  • Comfortable learning new systems and technologies
