Educational Excellence Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Educational Excellence Specialist to join our team at St. Christopher's School in Richmond, VA.

Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this position is approximately $65,000-$85,000 per year, depending on experience, with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 403(b) retirement plan, long-term disability and professional liability insurance, life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance, pre-tax savings accounts, tuition remission, meals, wellness leave, vacation days, bereavement/funeral leave, and professional development opportunities.
Responsibilities- Teach a full academic course load (four classes with two or three preps depending on need)
- Serve as an advisor to six to eight students and actively participate in the House System
- Coach or lead a significant co-curricular activity (clubs, community service, student government, etc.) for two after-school seasons
- Attend department and faculty meetings, all-school professional development meetings, and chapel regularly
- Create a positive classroom environment and collaborate with colleagues to design meaningful learning experiences for students
- Plan and prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that facilitate active learning
- Deliver individual, whole-group, and small-group instruction and provide feedback in a timely manner
- Manage student behavior and foster communication with parents/guardians
- Commitment to St. Christopher's mission, policies, and initiatives
- Strong academic record and teaching certificate or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of three years teaching experience or sustained demonstrated experience working with children
- Passion for teaching the discipline being taught and employing inquiry-based instructional methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytic skills
