About this Role:
We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Care Specialist to join our team in the U.S. Army. This is a unique opportunity to work with military animals, providing them with the care and attention they need to stay healthy and perform their duties effectively.
Job Summary:
The Veterinary Care Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of military animals, including working dogs, horses, and other service animals. This involves providing routine and emergency medical care, such as vaccinations, surgeries, and treatments for injuries and illnesses. The specialist will also assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, administer medications, and perform diagnostic tests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide routine and emergency medical care to military animals
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
- Administer medications and perform diagnostic tests
- Oversee the daily care of animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising
- Maintain detailed medical records for each animal
- Ensure that all care complies with military standards and regulations
