Job Title: Academic and Career Coach

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Academic and Career Coach to join our team at Bay Area Community Resources. The successful candidate will work with participants to create personalized education and career plans, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement career pathway projects, including career panels, college trips, and career advisory boards
  • Support participants in navigating the college enrollment process and completing the FAFSA application
  • Coordinate with workshop staff to create new career and employment readiness workshops
  • Develop and maintain relationships with high schools, colleges, and community partners to provide post-secondary education and vocational training resources
  • Provide program updates and progress reports, and complete evaluations and assessments as required
  • Make referrals and connections for participants to other services and programs as needed

Requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience in the workforce development field
  • 2+ years' experience working with multi-barrier youth and adults ages 14-24
  • 2+ years' experience with workshop facilitation, lesson planning, and college counseling
  • Ability to work full-time, including some evenings and weekends
  • Valid California driver's license and insured vehicle for work purposes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or currently attending college
  • Knowledge of Bay Area communities and career and education resources
  • Ability to assess crises and initiate action independently
