Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Reading Teacher to join our team at ALS Education LLC. As a Reading Teacher, you will play a vital role in coaching, motivating, and instructing high school students within our mastery-based educational model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a student-centered learning environment that fosters high student accountability and aligns with our school's academic goals and objectives.
  • Display effective teaching and instructional techniques, and provide direction and leadership within the classroom.
  • Assist in initiatives to ensure our school meets defined FTE enrollment and attendance goals.
  • Maintain accurate progress monitoring reports, attendance and behavioral records, academic grades, and other student records as required by state regulatory guidelines and company policy.
  • Collaborate with peers to develop, plan, and implement best educational practices based on individual student needs and company goals.
  • Participate in professional development courses or activities to maintain certification or credentials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure student educational and behavioral goals are achieved.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Appropriate Teacher's certification.
  • Knowledge of secondary education principles, curriculum, and instructional theory.
  • Ability to analyze and use data to drive program improvement.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Previous experience working with at-risk youth is preferred.
