Job Summary:

As a Supply Chain Specialist at Brigham and Women's Hospital, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain. Under the general direction of the Supply Support Manager and Team Lead, you will assess, replenish, and maintain unit supply rooms on a daily basis. Your exceptional customer service skills will be essential in providing quality service to our internal customers, while maintaining a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic distribution functions, including unit assessment and replenishment of assigned Nursing Units.
  • Stock and maintain unit supply rooms on a daily basis, ensuring that all necessary supplies are readily available.
  • Rotate stock and monitor expiration dates on various med/surg products to prevent waste and ensure compliance with hospital guidelines.
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies, problems, or questions related to inventory and distribution, reporting status to the Team Lead.
  • Focus on customer service, resolving customer inquiries and maintaining positive working relationships with individual unit staff members.
  • Collaborate with Nursing Unit staff members on planning, logistics, and supply continuity.
  • Follow hospital, TJC, DPS, OSHA, and CMS guidelines and procedures for supply stocking and rotation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic mathematical and reading skills.
  • Excellent customer service and problem resolution skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • On feet most of 8-hour shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull 400 pounds using a flat bed or 800 pounds using a pallet jack.
  • Some hazards associated with soiled linen and needles.
