We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Utilities Engineer to join our team at Solvay. As a key member of our Utilities department, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of our wastewater treatment plant, boilers, chiller compressors, air compressors, equalization/neutralization facility, water distribution, and nitrogen generation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the startup and optimization of a $5M Ozonation unit and a new sludge dryer operation
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance safety and efficiency
- Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure all processes are in control
- Support investigations and resolution of safety incidents
- Complete Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and Management of Change (MOC) as needed
- Lead capital improvement initiatives to enhance our utilities infrastructure
- Engineering degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, or 10+ years of experience in a related field
- Technical ownership of a currently defined utility process
- Experience leading incremental improvement initiatives to optimize existing processes
- Strong process skills and ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to lead a team to accomplish significant goals and objectives
- Competitive U.S. base salary range: $80,560 - $100,700 per year
- 16 weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations
