PRIMARY ROLE:

As a Pharmacy Operations Supervisor at Griffin Hospital, you will be tasked with managing the effective functioning of all pharmacy-related activities within our facility.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring that pharmacy operations comply with regulatory standards, delivering high-quality service, and enhancing workflow processes. Collaboration with various stakeholders, such as pharmacists, technicians, and administrative personnel, is crucial for maintaining smooth operations. Your position will involve strategic planning, resource allocation, and ongoing improvement initiatives aimed at boosting productivity and customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing, inventory oversight, and customer interactions.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Assess workflow efficiency and implement modifications to maximize productivity while ensuring accuracy and safety in medication distribution.
  • Recruit, train, and guide pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and support personnel.
  • Effectively schedule shifts to guarantee sufficient staffing levels and coverage during busy periods.
  • Conduct performance assessments and provide continuous feedback to facilitate staff development and achievement of objectives.
  • Design and execute quality assurance initiatives to evaluate medication dispensing accuracy, product quality, and customer service benchmarks.
  • Perform regular audits and inspections to identify opportunities for enhancement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage inventory procurement, storage, and distribution to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing waste and expiration.
  • Utilize inventory management systems to monitor product usage, track expiration dates, and streamline reordering processes.
  • Promote a customer-focused environment by encouraging excellence in service delivery and addressing customer complaints or concerns promptly.
  • Implement strategies to improve patient engagement, medication counseling, and adherence support services.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or a related discipline; PharmD is preferred. Valid pharmacist license required.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated experience in pharmacy management or a leadership role, ideally in a retail or healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, including dispensing protocols, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and make informed decisions in a dynamic environment. Commitment to upholding high standards of professionalism, ethics, and patient care.
