Description

Main Function:

1.Responsible for handling all aspects of patient care associated with the MRI scan function; prepares room, equipment, contrast, and materials as needed. Prepares patient for procedure in a professional manner. 

2.Maximizes the quality of exams through use of background knowledge and by routinely following prescribed techniques and defined protocols; properly maintains MR equipment.

3.Performs all necessary paperwork inherent in the position; responsive to all safety issues/concerns and assists with the general operations of the department.

4.Provides support in the Lab and EKG.

5.Performs quality control checks on equipment, collects data for departmental quality indicators, and submits data as directed.

6.Performs X-Ray functions.

7.Demonstrates high-quality work standards, complies with Hospital policies/requirements of employment.

8.Performs Diagnostic Imaging Site Supervisor functions. Responsible for quality, MRI safety, protocols, and technical aspects of the MRI program.

9.Responsible for quality, MRI safety, protocols, and technical aspects of the MRI program as the MRI Safety Officer.

10.Maintains responsibility for attendance/reliability to ensure that the Hospital is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner.

11.Contributes to the mission of the organization by supporting the Employee Philosophy, Planetree Model of Care, and Organizational Goals. 

Education:

B. S. Degree required. ARRT (R) (M) required with Connecticut State license. CPR certification required. 

Experience:

5 – 10 years of Mammography experience required, five (5) years supervisory experience required, credentials in two (2) imaging modalities required. Digital and 3D Mammography experience required.
