Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
You will play a crucial role in conducting assessments related to cyber security risks and physical security measures. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Facilitating user awareness training and developing necessary accreditation documentation.
  • Collaborating effectively within a team or independently to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining network routers and switches for both LAN and WAN setups.
  • Designing network architectures and ensuring the operational integrity of network switches.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate the following competencies:
  1. Attention to Detail: Display thoroughness in work and a conscientious approach to detail.
  2. Customer Service: Engage with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide assistance, and resolve issues, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  3. Oral Communication: Effectively convey information to individuals or groups, tailoring the message to the audience and context.
  4. Problem Solving: Identify and analyze problems, utilizing sound judgment to evaluate alternatives and make informed recommendations.

Additionally, candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9/10 grade level or DS-3 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized Experience
Experience should include:
  • Proficient knowledge of IT systems and functions.
  • Building and troubleshooting desktop computer systems and servers, including BIOS adjustments and operating system commands.
  • Designing and maintaining network topologies for LAN and WAN configurations.
  • Familiarity with Linux (CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise) and Windows operating systems.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, candidates may qualify with relevant education or a combination of education and experience. Acceptable qualifications include:
  • A Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Two full years of progressively higher graduate-level education leading to a master's degree in a related discipline.

Additional Information
This position is part of the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Multiple vacancies may be filled. Candidates should be aware that a tentative job offer may be rescinded if pre-employment requirements are not met.
