Position Overview:
This opportunity is with a reputable construction firm seeking a dedicated Cost Accountant. The role involves a comprehensive analysis of project-related costs and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and establish cost standards for materials and labor.
2. Prepare detailed cost and expenditure statements at regular intervals for management review.
3. Analyze costs and recommend strategies for cost savings.
4. Create monthly, quarterly, and annual cost forecasts.
5. Assess actual costs and generate periodic reports comparing budgeted costs to actual production expenses.
6. Maintain records of cost information to aid in expenditure control.
7. Conduct audits of costs and prepare relevant reports.
8. Estimate costs for new and proposed products.
9. Review and analyze cost of goods sold and margin reports.
10. Conduct physical inventories and oversee the cycle count program.
11. Validate the cost of goods sold during the month-end close process.
12. Collaborate with the finance team for month-end close coordination.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cost accounting within the construction sector.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures, including GAAP.
- Proficient in invoicing and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills with a solid grasp of accounting principles for financial report analysis.
