Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Medical Support Specialist to join our team at Colorado Center For Reproductive Medicine. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will provide essential support to healthcare providers and patients, contributing to a positive and reassuring patient experience.

About the Role:

This role directly contributes to patient care by measuring vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with minor medical procedures. You will work closely with physicians and nurses to ensure seamless patient care and maintain accurate records.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for examination, including temperature, pulse rate, blood pressure, weight, update health information, allergies, and current medication.
  • Document patient vitals, assessment, encounter type, and provider into electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and nurses regarding changes in patient condition, abnormal vitals, lab results, and abnormal patient response during testing/exam.
  • Prepare minor procedure trays and assist with procedures, such as hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsy, cyst aspiration, Pap smears, GC/chlamydia testing, HSG testing, etc.
  • Prep exam rooms according to patient appointments and testing requirements.
  • Educate patients on procedures and provide answers prior to exams.
  • Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations.
  • Maintain efficient patient workflow to meet physician/nurse scheduling requirements.
  • Order and schedule lab tests as directed; review results and annotate appropriate dispositions.
  • Order prescriptions/refills for patients prior to procedures; notify patients upon completion.
  • Disinfect exam rooms after each use and re-prep for next patients.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and sterilization, identifying any need for supplies/parts/repair and notifying Practice Administrators.
  • Order and manage back-office supplies, reconciling monthly receipts/packing slips for submission to the business office.
  • Scan signed consents, office appointment forms, laboratory, and pathology reports into EMR.
  • Monitor medicine cabinets/refrigerators and order medications as needed.
  • Perform urine pregnancy tests, documenting results in EMR, and communicating with physicians, nurses, or rad technicians prior to exams/procedures.
  • Autoclave used instruments, document size/type, change sterile/cleaning solutions, and document in soak logs.
  • Clean stationary room equipment, underside of exam tables, and provide clean linens/supplies for patient rooms' weekly minimum or as needed.
  • Maintain HIPAA and confidentiality for all patient and clinic information, HIV confidentiality.
  • Understand and assess potential domestic violence and child abuse issues, reporting concerns to Medical Directors or Practice Administrators.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma Required.
  • Medical Assistant (MA) -or- Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) credential required.
  • BCLS certification required.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • 1+ year Medical Assistant -or- Licensed Practical Nursing experience preferred.
  • A minimum of two hundred (200) successful blood draws is required (with documentation)
Estimated Salary Range:

$45,000 - $60,000 per annum, depending on location, experience, skills, and knowledge. Our total compensation package includes an annual bonus, flexible work arrangements, and other region-specific benefits.
