Job Summary

This role is responsible for leading the planning, design, and architecture development for the IT infrastructure team at Highmark Health. The successful candidate will create a blueprint of the architected network of systems and connected technological components within the company. As a key stakeholder in infrastructure roadmap planning and execution, this individual will lead in the design of IT architecture that fulfills team and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead to provide strategic consultation to business customers in defining or designing business processes, functions, and organizational structures.
Facilitate development of the most complex enterprise business solutions that combine knowledge of particular business processes and issues, general technological options, and process facilitation techniques.
Specify and design large or the most complex systems, solutions, networks, infrastructure elements, or processes.
Select appropriate design standards, methods, and tools and ensures that they are applied effectively.
Lead reviews of others' system design to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or closely related field.
7 years in an IT discipline.
Excellent understanding of infrastructure and network architecture, including cloud.
Strong knowledge of and command over the breadth of various Infrastructure technology stacks to effectively design and implement robust IT solutions.
Strong understanding of modern infrastructure practices, including Infrastructure as Code, Containerization, and SD Data Center.
Hands-on experience in applying performance engineering measures for efficient functioning of IT systems.
Good understanding of architectural frameworks (TOGAF preferred).
Knowledge of ArchiMate modeling language.
Knowledge of AI, GenAI, and LLM's.
Experience with leading RFP's and reviewing vendor agreements.
Knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and best practices.
Knowledge of process improvement. Lean Six Sigma preferred.
Experience with FinOps & IT Finance.
Good understanding of developing, maintaining, and updating IT standards and controls.
Good understanding of cloud service providers like AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
Knowledge of cloud-native technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless computing.
Good understanding of network protocols and standards, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancing.
Good knowledge of data modeling and data flow diagrams to understand the IT system design principles.
Excellent analytical, planning, organizational, and technical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience applying Agile principles for running a project lifecycle.

Scope of Responsibility

This role does not supervise/manage other employees.

Work Environment

Travel is required for this role.
