Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Survivability Architect to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading technical teams and developing advanced technologies to reduce the detectability of aircraft in various spectrums.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical teams of engineers and support IPT Lead in low observable and survivability analysis and techniques.
  • Develop and integrate advanced technologies to reduce the detectability of aircraft in the electromagnetic, infrared, visual, and acoustic spectrums.
  • Develop and implement predictive analysis codes, build and test physical models, design, develop, and build test and verification equipment, and develop, test, and integrate specialty materials.
  • Work closely with engineers of other disciplines to optimize the integration of this technology on existing and future aircraft.
Requirements
  • For Staff Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 14 years of related professional/military engineering experience, or a Master's degree and 12 years of related professional/military engineering experience.
  • Must have strong experience and/or knowledge in signature reduction technology integration, RCS design, analysis, and testing with applicable material selections.
  • Must be an expert using 1D, 2D, and 3D computational electromagnetic (CEM) codes to develop solutions for survivable systems and components for sustainment.
  • Must be an expert with one or more CAD software solutions such as CATIA, Unigraphics, NX.
  • Must be willing and able to work independently and mentor junior engineers.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
  • Must be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Fighter RCS design for bomber.
  • Proficiency in RF modeling and testing at an indoor/outdoor RCS/RF test facility.
  • Experience with current LO aircraft repair and maintenance techniques and operations.
  • Operational experience with LO diagnostic, inspection, and verification technologies (Tier 0-III).
  • Knowledge with LO material systems and logistics/support required for field support.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and technical writing skills to enable effective personal interaction and collaboration with a multi-disciplined team and customers.
  • Ability to work with internal support organizations such as Global Supply Chain and Security.
  • Programming experience in C++, MATLAB, Python, or other highly technical languages.
  • Ability to use CAE and/or FEA tools (i.e. FMS, Patran, Cubit, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge and ability with RCS data processing tools, such as Knowbell, SABER, or Pioneer.
  • Active/Current Special Program Access (PAR/SAP).
