Position Summary

The Department of Urban Public Health and Nutrition at La Salle University is seeking applications for a full-time faculty role at the Assistant Professor level within the ACEND-accredited Didactic and Master's Coordinated Programs in Nutrition. This position involves engaging with two distinct nutrition programs: a Didactic Program and a Master's Coordinated Program.

Graduates from the Didactic Program will earn a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, preparing them for various career paths, including graduate studies or dietetic internships that lead to the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential. Meanwhile, graduates of the accelerated Master's Coordinated Program will obtain both a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and a Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics Practice, qualifying them to sit for the Registered Examination for Dietitians upon completion of their degree and supervised practice requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Registered Dietitian credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration is mandatory.
  • Master's degree in nutrition or a related discipline.
  • Licensure as a Dietitian/Nutritionist in Pennsylvania or eligibility for licensure at the time of hire.
  • Proven teaching experience in higher education, specifically in nutrition.
  • Proficiency in utilizing current educational technology.
  • Experience in nutrition/dietetics/policy and advocacy, particularly with at-risk urban populations.
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations, including the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse community of staff, faculty, and students.
  • Commitment to the mission of La Salle University.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Experience with accreditation standards and curriculum development in ACEND-accredited programs.
  • Expertise in nutrition policy, law, and advocacy.
  • History of peer-reviewed research and publications in nutrition.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and evaluate clinical and community-based nutrition programs.
  • Established connections with clinical nutrition programs and community health organizations.
Physical Requirements
  • Evening and weekend availability may be necessary based on teaching assignments.
  • Local travel may be required for events and activities.
