Job Summary

As an Asset Management Professional at American Airlines, you will play a critical role in managing the life cycle of engine and component assets. This includes planning, maintenance, and disposal of these assets to ensure the smooth operation of our fleets. You will drive supplier negotiation strategies, manage financial activities, and perform financial analysis to reduce costs. Additionally, you will forecast removal volumes, evaluate and implement production and supply plans, and work closely with peers to coordinate and implement plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the life cycle planning of engine and component assets, including selection, maintenance, and disposition.
  • Drive supplier negotiation strategies to identify value propositions and reduce costs.
  • Manage financial activities, including annual budget and quarterly/monthly forecasting.
  • Perform financial analysis and optimization to reduce the cost of operating AA's fleets.
  • Forecast removal volumes for aircraft engines and components.
  • Evaluate and implement production and supply plans to ensure adequate spares availability.
  • Work closely with peers to coordinate and implement plans.
  • Use statistical tools to forecast engine, APU, and landing gear removal and demand volumes.
  • Develop and produce reporting and analysis on powerplant maintenance provider performance.
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers and manage supplier performance.
  • Produce periodic reports on near- and long-term forecasts for powerplant maintenance costs and volumes.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Math, or Engineering or equivalent experience/training.
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA in a related field.

Skills and Certifications
  • Familiarity with probability and statistics principles.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with changing deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective organization and planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to concisely present work to senior management.
