Position Summary:

The Field Service Engineer acts as the primary point of contact for clients, managing both customer-facing and internal support functions, which include commissioning, installation, start-up, warranty, and paid service. This crucial role is key in fostering long-lasting customer relationships, linking clients, products, and internal teams.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance and solutions for electrical challenges encountered before, during, and after manufacturing.
  • Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes in accordance with engineering specifications.
  • Install and maintain electrical control systems.
  • Modify electrical prototypes, components, assemblies, and systems to correct functional discrepancies.
  • Set up and operate testing equipment to evaluate developmental parts, assemblies, or systems, documenting results under simulated operating conditions.
  • Perform various highly technical tasks, including commissioning, start-up, and repair/refurbishment of complex electronic and mechanical equipment at client facilities.
  • Train and instruct client personnel on equipment operation.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers and team members to identify, interpret, analyze, and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate troubleshooting records in the service database and produce detailed technical reports promptly.
  • Modify and maintain PLC and HMI programs.
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting using diagnostic techniques and relevant inquiries.
  • When not traveling, execute machine wiring, panel assembly, programming, and testing tasks in the workshop.
  • Perform additional assigned responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Willingness to travel 20-60% as needed.
  • Proficient in computer and electronics, including processors, electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, as well as applications and programming.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to machines, tools, their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including basic arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their practical applications.
  • Understanding of production and processing techniques, including raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and methods for optimizing equipment manufacturing.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Exemplary professionalism, capable of managing pressure, demonstrating respect, and honoring commitments.
  • Proficient in the structure, content, spelling, composition rules, and grammar of the English language.
  • Experience with programming software, particularly Allen Bradley PLC, HMI, and Servo programming.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret electronic schematics and drawings.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Customer-focused and self-motivated.
  • Adaptable to fast-paced, dynamic environments with varying temperature conditions.
  • Proactive in engaging and following up with clients.
