As a key member of the finance team, the Retail Financial Analyst will play a vital role in supporting the Finance Director and Vice President in achieving business goals and navigating financial challenges. This position involves the preparation of comprehensive reports that analyze and forecast the company's financial activities, focusing on income, expenses, and profitability based on historical and projected data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute month-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Develop monthly forecasts for expenses and balance sheets, analyzing balance sheet ratios and providing variance explanations.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure timely and accurate expense reporting, particularly in store operations and payroll.
  • Oversee the management of fixed asset forecasts and closing processes.
  • Conduct reviews and audits of invoices and travel & expense reports.
  • Prepare annual budgets for operating expenses and balance sheets.
  • Focus on real estate and lease accounting, forecasting the implications of lease renewals.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1-4 years of relevant experience in financial analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with various departments.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel functions.
  • Familiarity with SAP and retail finance is preferred.
  • Ability to make informed decisions regarding account adjustments and reconciliations.
  • Proactive in researching and resolving financial issues.
  • Capability to enhance processes and work independently.
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Adept at balancing detailed work with broader financial perspectives.
  • Prepared to handle increased workloads during critical financial periods.
